Turns out, you don’t need to hit the gym or put on full gear and cycle to burn a good amount of calories and stay fit. All you need is a yoga mat, some floor space at home, and Youtube. Over the last few months, I’ve been trying something new, and although it took me some getting used to in making it an everyday thing, I found an exercise solution that I came to love. Yoga & Youtube.
I was skimming through Youtube looking for yoga tutorials and I came across this yoga for weight loss video by Adriene. As I looked through her channel, Yoga With Adriene, I was amazed by the variety of videos, from yoga for weight loss to yoga for headaches.
I decided to give one of the videos a try. It was for weight loss, focusing on abs and arms. As a beginner, I felt that her instructions are really easy to follow and beginner-friendly. What I love the most is how she continues to emphasise on doing what feels right and being where we are in the moment without having to force ourselves to do the poses perfectly.
Before I knew it, I’ve reached the end of the video and feeling that post-workout satisfaction. I tried to accomplish one video every 2 days, and after a month I surely did began to feel the benefits of yoga. I feel fresher during the day, more immune to flu, and definitely fitter. Yoga also helps get rid of bloating and makes your body take the time to take deep breaths, which is definitely calming.
Whether you’re looking for a new exercise routine or wanting to finish your usual cardio exercise with some yoga, click the link below and give it a try. Who knows, you might learn to love it too.
Little reminder: Make sure to wait about 2 to 4 hours after a big meal before you start practicing yoga.
